Company grows sales by 60 percent compared to prior year
Castillo Engineering announced that it had completed its best year on record since the company’s foundation over 25 years ago. In 2022, the company’s sales grew by 60 percent compared to 2021. This tremendous growth can be attributed in part to the company’s expansion of its utility-scale solar and community solar division, which grew by 140 percent. In total, Castillo Engineering designed 550 MW of residential, utility-scale, and community solar projects, including 9,500 residential projects, in 2022 alone. Additionally, the company not only kept all of its pre-pandemic employees but actually increased its workforce by 183 percent since the pandemic began, as well as achieved 87 percent staff diversity in 2022.
“We are immensely proud of our accomplishments in 2022 and could not have achieved these results without our strong team, reliable partners, efficient processes, and our collective drive to create a more sustainable future for all,” said Christopher Castillo, CEO of Castillo Engineering. “We are glad to have become the go-to solar engineering firm for the nation’s leading utility-scale EPCs and developers and look forward to building on this success in 2023.”
Groundbreaking Projects
Beyond the significant growth in staff, sales, and number of projects Castillo Engineering achieved in 2022, the company also completed several groundbreaking solar projects last year. Castillo Engineering completed a 38 MW portfolio of large-scale community solar projects in New York in which the company was able to reduce costs by $1.2M through site optimization, resulting in 8,700 homes receiving clean energy that was previously deemed ineligible for solar access due to lack of finances. Castillo Engineering also was the Structural Engineer of Record for the 1.1 MW U.S. Army Fort Bragg Solar project in North Carolina, the largest floating solar project in the Southeastern U.S., and the winner of the 2022 Procure Groundbreaking Project Award.
