Maitland, FL, October 5th, 2023 – Castillo Engineering announced today that its Founder and President, Rick Castillo, and its CEO, Christopher Castillo, were both named to Florida Trend’s Florida 500 List of most influential business leaders. The state’s leading business news media outlet, Florida Trend, compiles the Florida 500, a special publication and year-long research initiative that highlights the 500 most influential executives in different economic sectors throughout the state. Rick and Christopher were recognized due to their ability to overcome unforeseen obstacles and lead the company’s rapid expansion.
“We are honored to have been recognized in this esteemed list of Florida’s most prominent business leaders,” said Rick Castillo, Founder and President at Castillo Engineering. “My son, Christopher, and I have worked diligently together to expand the business tremendously in a short amount of time - all while helping to deliver more affordable clean energy to residents and businesses throughout the country.”
Rick and Christopher were recognized, in part, due to their ability to ensure that all of Castillo Engineering’s employees maintained their positions without any decrease in compensation during the pandemic. At the same time, the company’s gross revenue and employee count each grew by over 200 percent. The company was also named to Inc. 5000’s list of the fastest growing companies in America during this same period as a result of the firm’s rapid, multi-year growth. Last year alone, the company’s sales grew by 60 percent, which can be attributed to the company’s expansion of its utility-scale solar and community solar division, which grew by 140 percent.
Influential Florida business leaders that have been named to the Florida 500 alongside Christopher and Rick include Nitin Motwani, Managing Partner of Miami Worldcenter Associates, the lead developer of a $4 billion mixed use ‘city within a city’ in downtown Miami; David Martin, CEO of Terra, a developer that works with 16 municipalities across Miami-Dade; and Jorge Gonazlez, Vice Chairman and CEO of City National Bank.
“I’m proud to have been recognized in the Florida 500 alongside my father,” said Christopher Castillo, CEO at Castillo Engineering. “We feel very grateful to have been able to significantly grow our family business over the past year, enabling us to drive greater adoption of more renewable sources of energy in the process. We are particularly thankful for our extremely passionate, hardworking and intelligent team members, as we would not have been able to accomplish these record results without them.”
